Points are the growth meta for defi protocols of 2024. Defi projects reward early users, referrals and social media activity with loyalty points. These points can be converted in a token allocation in a possible airdrop.
To grow usage and TVL, protocols now have this interesting growth gamification available in their quiver.
For users on the other hand this makes it easier to optimize for yield and airdrops of new projects, since the reward mechanism is out in the open.
